I planted an herb garden for the first time this spring (mostly all from cuttings!), and it’s totally changed the way I cook. Because, you see, it’s on the window ledge in the kitchen right by the stove (in this awesome pallet planter I got at the Urban Garden Center in Manhattan), so it’s perfect.


Now I’ll be making some tomato sauce and think, Hmm, why not add some fresh thyme? I mean, it’s right here. So I do, and it’s amazing. Of course.

Or say I’m halfing some frozen brussel sprouts to roast, tossed in oil, salt, and pepper, and I think, Hmm, why not add some fresh rosemary? So I do, and again, amazing.

Don’t even get me started on the fresh mint tea I can have basically always. It grows back so fast!
